Special to Mesquite Today

The City of Mesquite Senior Center has partnered with AARP to raise awareness about consumer fraud and identity theft.   Did you know that someone’s identity is stolen every two seconds in the United States?  AARP and the Senior Center want to help individuals learn how to best protect themselves from becoming a victim of scam or fraud.  AARP Nevada is launching a state-wide education effort through the use of “Shred Stations”,” and has chosen the Mesquite Senior Center a great host site for Mesquite.

These simple, pop-up Stations are intended to be an easily accessible place for individuals to shred sensitive documents, learn about new fraud/scam tactics in Nevada, and receive information on the AARP Fraud Watch Network.   The Shred Station is not designed for bulk or business use.  There is no cost to participants.
