The Virgin Valley Artists Association members have chosen the winners of the Jan. themed exhibition, “Fairies and Dragons.” The winners will be formally announced during their public reception on Thursday, Jan. 20 at 4 p.m. at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery. This themed competition is sponsored by Deep Roots Harvest, an eager supporter of the Gallery.
The winners that have been announced include:
Best of Show “Domovoi” by Rachelle Knight
1st Place “Enchanted Trees” by Leslie Anderson
Second Place “A Time to Fly” by Kathleen Ludwig
Third Place “The Dragon’s Lair” by Charyn McDonnell
Honorable Mentions
“Myth of Lorelei the Mermaid” by Elena Ahrens
“Myth of Notre Dame” by Rita Fulmer
“Puff” by Amy Wells
Sponsor’s Choice, People’s Choice and Mayor’s Choice will be announced during the gallery reception.
VVAA operates the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery through member volunteer efforts. Original art is displayed in the gallery and offered for sale.
The VVAA sponsors adult classes, operates a full-service pottery studio, and sponsors a series of free art classes for school-age children and free monthly classes for seniors. Numerous local businesses and individuals support to the organization through their generous donations and sponsorships.
