people helping people…that’s what keeps many of us going; whether you’re one to give help and, or receive it, there are apps that will help make this world a better place for all who need it. With so many changes taking place among the majority of communities today, health-wise, culturally and demographically … there’s help just an app away.
Wherever your location might be, this app is extremely useful in countless ways; from asking questions (where to eat, recommend home or pet care, automobile services, handymen and, or particular maintenance services, etc.), it’s a click away at https://nextdoor.com/ . I know people that use this app on a daily basis; if not for a personal recommendation of sorts, to sometimes sharing an unusual activity which could have been spotted inside your local neighborhood. This app is used for a variety of reasons, and continues to be a little blessing among tightknit communities.
Another way to help others is to be someone’s eyes…yes… imagine having no vision; something many of us take for granted most of the time. This helpful app https://www.bemyeyes.com/ connects those that are vision impaired and, or blind, and those who wish to help aid in being someone else’s eyes. Imagine how helpful you could be to a total stranger; sometimes doing a small favor for someone less fortunate than you can often put ones’ life in a different perspective, usually a better one.
Downsizing or cleaning out some of the stuff in your wardrobe and, or cupboards…you no longer want, just download the app https://buynothingproject.org/ . This is an unbelievable place for those needing items they cannot afford, or for whatever reasons having the need for something unattainable…there are people willing to give them up for FREE…yes, absolutely free. There are no strings attached here, no bartering services in any way, fashion or form…items are given away freely at no cost. Also, there’s no subscription needed, nothing to complete…just people helping people.
This next recommended app is for those that want to try something out of the ordinary, whether it’s to help locally or nationally…it’s to assist in a project(s) of sorts (scientifically), go to https://www.zooniverse.org/ . Some people have found real enjoyment here, not to mention the addictiveness of being a part of something much bigger than ourselves; no doubt why since we’ve been more isolated than ever before.
Last but not least…with covid being in the headlines constantly there’s a real shortage of blood due to the given transfusions, so look here at https://www.redcrossblood.org/ . The Red Cross has made it convenient for those wanting to give blood and you can do this by using the Blood Donor App. All you do is put in your zip code and it’ll show you the closest location.
We all continue to live during unprecedented times, but it doesn’t have to be so bad really…sometimes it’s just a matter of giving a small piece of yourself, and or something you don’t need (but possess) to make someone else’s day a little bit brighter. If not for that, then maybe it’ll make yours a bit less stressful, while helping the world be a better place…if just for a moment, or even a day…Kindness and Gratitude can go a long way.
Make your week count.
