Joy Reed Stockton, age 86, died Friday, February 11, 2022 in Mesquite, Nevada.  She was born July 11, 1935 in Montgomery, Mississippi to Carl Rudolph and Lula Olene Hodges Reed.  On August 5, 1963 she married Raymond David Stockton in Las Vegas, Nevada

. Joy grew up in Mississippi.  She raised her family in Southern California where she worked as a court recorder for the state of California.  She will be remembered as a loyal and trusted friend.  She loved her children and her husband and enjoyed time with them.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed everything with butterflies.

Survivors include her husband Raymond of Mesquite; two sons: Bill Roberts of ID; David (Lisa) Stockton of Lakewood, CO; five grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and one brother, Ed Grantham of CA.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joy Schiefelbein.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 4 – 5 p.m. at the Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 E. Old Mill Road, Mesquite, Nevada.  Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 12 Noon at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
