On February 20, we celebrate National Love Your Pet Day, a day that gives us all a reason to celebrate our pets and make them feel special.

The purpose of this holiday is to encourage pet owners to spend some time with their pets and show them the love and affection they deserve. It doesn’t matter if you own a cat, dog, bird, fish or reptile, today is the day to pamper them and show them how much they mean to you. It’s about acknowledging the special relationship, and place pets hold in our lives and to pamper and admire them even more than we already do. It’s a chance to give back to pets everywhere since they’re known for helping to reduce stress and blood pressure in humans.

There are many things that differentiate humans from the rest of the animal kingdom, but one of the more unusual behaviors is our longstanding tendency to keep other animals as pets. Pet owners take pride in their pets and love to show them off and admire them.

Humans and pets have meshed well together previously, and there’s no denying the fact that they continue to be a large part of your lives today.

If you don’t own a pet, don’t feel left out because there are plenty of options for to participate as well. For example, someone may want to donate money to a local shelter, rescue group or adopt a pet themselves. You might even want to consider adding another pet  to the family on Love Your Pet Day.

Have fun celebrating and showing the household pet how much you adore them.

Featured cat- Monty

Hi, I’m Monty! Yes, I am devilishly handsome, with distinctive markings on my face and a penetrating gaze. But much more importantly, I’m an affectionate, gentle, and laid-back fellow, and I love my people! My owner passed away and I went to live in a home but the cats in the home did not like me moving into their territory. I’m curious and playful and enjoy exploring my surroundings, but I’m also quite the talker and will reach up for pets! Not only is he the most handsome guy around, he is also extremely personable and outgoing.
