On Feb. 12, the Elks State Hoop Shoot was held in Hawthorne, NV. Our four kids competed against shooters that had won their District Hoop Shoots from Reno, Henderson, Hawthorne, Ely, Boulder City, and Las Vegas Elk Lodges. Mesquite Elks Lodge had 2 winners, Lexie Allen, winner of the girls 8/9 years old division and Kaitlyn Waite, winner of the girls 10/11 years old division.
Lexie Allen and Kaitlyn Waite will be at the Elks Regional Hoop Shoot competing against kids from California/Hawaii, Utah, and Arizona.
At the Elks Regional Hoop Shoot, the Sunset Station is the host hotel for accommodations and the Get Acquainted Party and Bowling for contestants and their families on February 25th. On Saturday February 26th there will be a Breakfast of Champions at the Boulder City Elks Lodge, followed by the Hoop Shoot at the Boulder City Recreation Center at 10:00 am. Following the hoop shoot there is an awards ceremony and luncheon back at the Boulder City Elks Lodge.
Winners from the Elks Regional Shoot will advance to the Elks National Hoop Shoot in Chicago, Illinois April 28th-April 30th.
