Multiple agencies reported a six-vehicle accident on I15 at about mile marker 112 just past the Riverside Road exit.

The multiple-vehicle crash happened on Friday, April 1 in the northbound lanes just before 5 p.m. according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.

According to Beaver Dam Fire Chief, Jeff Hunt, the driver of a BMW SUV slowed down for an unknown reason when a pickup truck struck the SUV from behind. The collision triggered a chain reaction with 4 additional cars becoming involved in the crash. Hunt said there were pieces of car and truck parts as far as the eye could see.

It was reported that damage to the vehicles was extensive, but the people involved were largely uninjured. No fatalities were reported.

Northbound lanes were closed for several hours while crews were taking care of removing the vehicles and debris.
