If you had visited the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery anytime during the month of April, you’d have found “Everything Under the Sun” at the Grand Bazaar which is on display until the end of the month.

If you haven’t stopped by, you still have a few more days until things are packed away until next year. The artists will tear down the tables on April 30 after the gallery closes at 4 p.m.

Forty local artists joined forces to bring the Bazaar to fruition. You can find a plethora of one-of-a-kind artworks in a variety of mediums from pottery to paintings and everything in between.

The bazaar is one of the association’s finest annual fundraising events of the season. All funds raised help support the many programs and scholarships the VVAA sponsors and the community enjoys. The Artists raised over $700 during this event.

This year they had an addition to the bazaar. On Saturday, April 23, Paul and Linda Villanueva added their own “art” to the mix. The Mesquite Café Blues Band rocked the house. Bazaar shoppers were enjoying some music while sitting around the pavilion. They may have come for some colorful art but they left singing the blues.

The Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery is a city-owned facility, operated by the Virgin Valley Artists Association. VVAA members provide the original artwork that is shown in the gallery and gift shop. All art is offered for sale and displays are changed monthly. In addition to the special exhibitions, members show their works in a wide variety of mediums.

Stop by the gallery at 15 W Mesquite Boulevard during business hours, the gallery is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, to view all works of art from participating artists! While you’re there, check out the gift shop; displays have changed and they have a wonderful variety of original art for sale.

For more information, contact the gallery at 702-346-1338.

This and other projects are funded, in part, by a grant from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
