There is something going on this weekend for you no matter what you enjoy. We’ve got two weekend-long events happening in or close to town. Mesquite Days and the Beaver Dam Jam both offer good food, music and fun.
The Jam is chock full of music played by various bands in a weekend-long concert that has seen nothing less than huge success over the years. You might want to enjoy ending your weekend with Rick Wall the Outlaw on Sunday when he closes out the jam from 2-4:30 p.m. with his unique style locals truly love.
Mesquite Days is jammed packed with activities, carnival food games and rides. Saturday kicks off with the Mayor’s Pancake Breakfast at 7, the parade at 10 and the carnival all day long.
While you are out and about, stop by the Women’s History and Culture Center for their Open House between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., you’ll be surprised at what they have to offer. You’ll also get a chance to experience the cool blues played by one of the hottest bands in town, Mesquite Cafe Blues Band, you don’t want to miss them.
There is always something happening at the Library and Sunday they’ll be continuing their concert series at 3 p.m. with “Off the Rails” band.
It’s the sort of weekend where you won’t be asking, “What is there to do?” It’ll be more like, “How much fun do I have time for, there’s so much to choose from.” I’m sure, like myself, there are many planning their time to see if they can possibly experience a little bit of everything.”
Take a look at what we’ve got. I hope to see many of you who are out and about, having fun this weekend.
