Our officers arrested a man this weekend for burglary and possession of stolen property among other charges after he was caught attempting to break into vehicles. Doing a few simple things around the house can be a deterrent that will go a long way to make criminals think twice and move on.
take all your valuables out of your car like electronics, purses, medications, sunglasses, etc.
lock your car, roll up the windows, close your garage door as soon as you’re done using it, lock your house doors and windows
consider investing in video surveillance for your home. There are many inexpensive and very easy-to-use systems on the market.
call the police if you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood. Please don’t approach someone you suspect is up to no good; get a good description of the person, what they’re wearing, if they’re driving, their direction of travel, and call 911 to report it (or 702-346-6911 for non-emergency).
