Located in Littlefield, AZ, Little Jamaica is a series of beautiful natural springs and waterfalls. It is in jeopardy of being closed off from the public.
We formed the Foundation for the Preservation of Little Jamaica to improve the image and atmosphere of Little Jamaica and have the area treated with the care and respect it deserves.
We have expanded the scope of our project to include the entire Virgin River Valley between Desert Springs and Scenic east of Highway 15 and the mountains leading up to the Paiute Wilderness area, which provides several springs, caves, and historical sites.
Our goal is to establish and preserve a world-class wildlife/wilderness/recreation area for the valley that will include hiking, rafting, swimming, and camping and events. We plan to utilize private and public lands to promote camping and recreation in the area, establish parking, improve access, and establish services such as bathrooms and trash receptacles. We also sponsor and support new businesses in the outdoor recreation field and other related industries coming to the area.
This project will benefit the community and the tourist alike. It will bring new growth to this area and save a beautiful piece of nature.
We are asking for support and cooperation from the local community and landowners.
Our first fundraiser is scheduled for Nov 19.
