Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Bryce William Treft, 35 of Littlefield, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Disorderly Conduct with a Weapons, and Dangerous Drug Possession, all felonies. On Friday (1/6) at approximately 3:45 PM, our Communications Center began receiving calls of a male subject walking northbound on Highway 91 near Littlefield. Multiple reporting parties called to advise that the male subject was seen waving a handgun around and pointing it at passing vehicles. A physical description of the male subject was given, and deputies began canvassing the area to locate the subject.
A short time later, an officer updated the call to reflect that he had eyes on the subject walking in the area of East Rio Virgin Rd. The officer was able to positively identify the subject as Treft, who was known to deputies and was known to have a campsite in the area. Deputies responded to the campsite located in a heavily wooded area and heard a male subject yelling incoherently from within the camp.
Deputies positioned themselves in an elevated location of the camp and began making PA announcements for Treft to come out. After a brief period of time, Treft responded to the de-escalation attempts and approached the deputies. Deputies were able to restrain Treft and located the handgun inside the campsite, which was identified as an airsoft pellet gun resembling a realistic revolver. A search of Treft’s backpack he was carrying during the incident revealed a baggie containing approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine.
Bryce Williams Treft was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman without incident.
